How it started
I started my cleaning business in 2017 and have since worked on more than 2,000 carpet-cleaning jobs. That practical foundation matters: before trying to change or restore colour, you need to understand the carpet, what has happened to it and whether cleaning should come first.
Over the years I kept encountering problems that cleaning alone could not solve—bleach damage, faded areas, permanent colour loss and carpets that were still serviceable but looked tired. I wanted a responsible answer beyond simply telling the customer to replace them.
That led me to specialist training in professional carpet dyeing and colour restoration and, in turn, to The Carpet Dye Guy. The aim is straightforward: assess the whole problem, choose the most appropriate route and be honest when a treatment is unlikely to justify the cost or risk.

What customers can expect
The fibre, construction, condition, existing colour and cause of the problem all influence what may be suitable.
Cleaning, stain treatment, repair, colour correction and replacement solve different problems. George will explain which route makes sense.
No guaranteed invisible repairs, perfect colour matches or promises that every stain can be removed. Likely limitations are discussed before booking.
There is no sales team, call centre or franchise hand-off. The person giving the advice is the person responsible for the work.
The business behind the specialist
The Carpet Dye Guy builds on George’s professional carpet-care experience gained through his separate cleaning business. His independent specialist business brings dyeing, colour restoration, stain treatment and carpet repair together in one assessment-led service.
The business is operated by George Stevens as a sole trader, trading as The Carpet Dye Guy. George is the person you speak to, the person who assesses the enquiry and the person accountable for the advice and work.
