What is ColourRevive?

Maintain the colour you have

Professional cleaning with colour care selected for your carpet’s fibre and condition.

George assesses the fibre, construction, condition and colour before recommending treatment. It is not suitable for every carpet, and colour treatment is not automatically necessary at every clean.

Where appropriate, the colour-care element is incorporated into the extraction stage of the full professional cleaning process. It is not intended to change the carpet to a new colour or bring already-faded carpet back to its original shade.

Already faded or uneven in colour? ColourRevive™ is not a restoration treatment for existing fading. Explore carpet colour restoration for an assessment of lost colour. For a deliberate darker colour change, see carpet dyeing.

ColourRevive™ adds maintenance colour care to a professional clean. It is intended to help maintain existing colour—not restore colour that has already been lost.
George Stevens, The Carpet Dye Guy

Why George?

A specialist carpet cleaner with additional colour-care training

Carpet dyeing, colour restoration and specialist colour work sit alongside George’s professional cleaning background. That knowledge supports an assessment-led maintenance service focused on caring for the colour the carpet still has.

If colour has already been lost, George will explain that ColourRevive™ is not the right treatment and assess whether separate carpet colour restoration is appropriate.

NJORD Cleaning Specialist certification

NJORD Cleaning Specialist Certified

Professionally trained in carpet cleaning, fibre identification, cleaning chemistry and appropriate methods. WoolSafe-approved cleaning products and protection are available where appropriate. ColourRevive suitability is assessed separately.

Maintenance before visible fading

Care for the colour while it is still in good condition

ColourRevive™ is designed to make colour care part of routine professional maintenance. The intention is to help maintain the carpet’s existing appearance and slow colour depletion over time.

It does not guarantee against future fading, chemical damage or other colour change. George assesses whether the maintenance colour-care element is appropriate and provides practical aftercare advice.

When to consider it

Situations where ColourRevive may be worth assessing

These are useful indicators, not a promise that every carpet will be suitable.

Routine professional maintenance

You want thorough cleaning with care for your carpet’s existing colour.

Keeping a carpet looking its best

The colour is still in good condition and you want advice on ongoing care.

Planning future carpet care

George can assess whether ColourRevive™ belongs in your maintenance approach.

How it works

The six-stage ColourRevive process

A thorough clean, with maintenance colour care at Stage 5 where suitable.

Select any stage to read the full explanation, or enlarge the complete graphic.
1Thorough Pre-Vacuum

A thorough dry vacuum of the entire area using a professional-grade machine, lifting as much dry soil as possible before any moisture is introduced. Dry soil comes up far more easily than wet soil, giving every stage that follows a cleaner base to work from.

This gives the professional maintenance clean and any suitable colour-care element the best possible start.

2Fibre & Condition Identification

Before any treatment begins, George identifies the carpet’s fibre—whether wool, polypropylene, polyamide/nylon, polyester or a blend—and checks its construction and condition.

For ColourRevive, the assessment also considers the carpet’s existing colour and whether maintenance colour care is appropriate. It is not recommended as a treatment for colour that has already been lost.

Wool carpets require particular care. Where appropriate, WoolSafe-approved cleaning products are available, while ColourRevive suitability is assessed separately.

3Fibre-Appropriate Pre-Treatment

The cleaning chemistry is selected to suit the carpet’s fibre and the type of soiling present, then applied evenly and given suitable dwell time to begin breaking down contamination.

No colour-care element is added at this stage. The carpet must first be properly prepared for the professional clean.

4Agitation Where Appropriate

Where the carpet is suitable, the pre-treatment is worked through the pile using an appropriate method. This helps loosen embedded soil and improve contact between the cleaning solution and the fibres.

The same agitation method is not used on every carpet. Fibre, construction and condition determine what is safe and useful.

5Hot Water Extraction + ColourRevive™ Colour Care

Hot water extraction removes loosened soiling as part of the professional clean. Where suitable, the ColourRevive™ colour-care element is incorporated at this stage. Its purpose is maintenance of the existing colour, with the intention of slowing colour depletion; it is not a separate restoration treatment for carpet that has already faded. George confirms suitability before including it in the quotation.

6Fibre-Appropriate Rinse & Groom

An appropriate rinse is used where required to manage residue and leave the carpet in the correct condition for drying. The pile is then groomed to support an even finish and drying pattern.

George will explain drying guidance and realistic aftercare. Cleaning, use, sunlight and future maintenance will all affect how the carpet looks over time.

Investment

What affects the cost of ColourRevive?

The service is quoted for the individual carpet and the work it actually needs.

Rooms and carpet area

The amount of carpet and the layout of the rooms affect time, access and product use.

Fibre and construction

Cleaning and maintenance colour care must be selected for the actual carpet rather than applied generically.

Condition and soiling

Heavy contamination, previous treatments and uneven wear can change the preparation required.

Maintenance suitability

The carpet’s existing colour and condition determine whether maintenance colour care is appropriate.

Additional specialist work

Separate restoration, stain treatment, bleach correction or physical repairs are assessed as distinct services.

Location and access

Kent has no call-out charge; work elsewhere in the South East is discussed during assessment.

How pricing works

Send photographs of the carpet and the wider room. George will assess cleaning needs and maintenance suitability, then provide a fixed quotation before work begins.

Honest limitations

ColourRevive isn’t right for every carpet

It is a professional maintenance clean with colour care for suitable carpet—not restoration or a cure for every kind of damage.

It may help with

  • Professional maintenance cleaning
  • Ongoing care for a suitable carpet’s existing colour
  • A maintenance approach intended to slow colour depletion

It is not intended to fix

  • Existing fading or uneven colour loss requiring restoration
  • An unwanted colour requiring a deliberate colour change
  • Burns, cuts, missing pile or structural damage
  • Every stain or significant bleach mark
  • Fibres and constructions that are unsuitable

Choose the right treatment

What does your carpet actually need?

George recommends the service according to the problem—not the other way round.

Maintenance cleaning to help maintain existing colour

The carpet’s colour is still in good condition and ongoing care is the goal.

Burns, tears or missing pile need a repair assessment.

Would ColourRevive™ suit your maintenance plan?

Send George a few clear photographs. He will assess the fibre, condition, soiling and existing colour, then explain whether maintenance colour care is appropriate.

Common questions

Questions about ColourRevive™

Straight answers about suitability, results, wool carpets, timing and cost.
What is ColourRevive™, and how is it different from a professional carpet clean?

ColourRevive™ combines George’s full professional maintenance clean with specialist care for the existing colour of suitable carpets. The intention is to help maintain colour and slow colour depletion through ongoing care. It is not offered to restore carpet that has already faded.

Is ColourRevive™ suitable if my carpet has already faded?

ColourRevive™ is positioned as maintenance, not restoration of existing fading. If your carpet has already lost colour or become uneven, George will assess it for carpet colour restoration instead.

Will ColourRevive™ prevent all future colour loss?

No. It is intended to help maintain existing colour and slow colour depletion, but it is not a guarantee against future fading, chemical damage or other causes of colour change. George will explain appropriate aftercare for your carpet.

Can ColourRevive™ restore sun fading?

Sun fading that has already occurred belongs under carpet colour restoration. ColourRevive™ is a maintenance clean and is not offered as a way to restore already-faded carpet.

Does ColourRevive™ change my carpet to a different colour?

No. Its purpose is ongoing care of the existing colour. For an achievable darker shade or darker different colour, ask about carpet dyeing.

How do you know whether my carpet is suitable?

George assesses fibre type, construction, condition, soiling and colour individually. Not every carpet is suitable. If ColourRevive is not the right treatment, George will explain that before work begins and suggest the option most likely to help.

Can ColourRevive fix bleach damage?

No. Bleach damage requires separate assessment for bleach-spot repair or broader colour restoration. ColourRevive™ is ongoing maintenance and does not protect against or restore bleach damage.

Is ColourRevive suitable for wool carpets?

Some wool carpets may be suitable and others may not be. Where appropriate, WoolSafe-approved products are available for the cleaning stage, while ColourRevive suitability is assessed separately for the individual carpet and treatment required.

How long does ColourRevive take?

Timing depends on room size, carpet construction, condition, soiling and whether maintenance colour care is suitable. George will explain the likely duration and drying guidance when providing the quotation.

Can it be combined with stain removal or carpet repair?

Sometimes. Separate stain, restoration or repair work is assessed and quoted as its own service. George will explain which work can sensibly be combined.

What can ColourRevive not fix?

It does not restore existing fading, change an unwanted colour, repair burns, cuts, missing pile, severe physical wear or structural damage, and it does not fix every stain or chemical mark. George will recommend another service or advise against treatment where appropriate.

How much does ColourRevive cost?

Every job is priced individually according to the rooms, fibre, condition, soiling, access and suitability for maintenance colour care. Separate restoration, stain or repair work is assessed independently. George provides a free photo assessment and fixed quotation before work begins.

What happens if ColourRevive isn’t suitable for my carpet?

George will explain why it is unsuitable and recommend the most sensible alternative, which may be professional cleaning, targeted colour correction, repair or no treatment at all. There is no obligation following the free photo assessment.
